Cale received great presents for his birthday. Two of his favorites are books and balls!

Cale is obsessed with balls. Before he started walking to get around he would crawl over a ball and then crawl to his next destination with the ball tucked behind him. This way he was sure to have a ball with him at all times.

We're Back!

I'm back to the blog again! It's truly been a whirlwind since Easter. Getting our house ready to sell, showing it and moving to our new home took a lot of effort. God worked out all of the timing perfectly and we couldn't be more grateful! We sold our previous house to a great young couple and are now in our new home and are getting settled in. We are outside of town so we've had to do things a little differently (water well, sewage tank, etc). I finally found a company last week that would do wireless internet for us at a decent rate. It's amazing what going without internet for a few months will do for you! I can't promise I'll be as regular on the blog as I was before, but I know everyone likes to see my boys grow so I'll definitely keep it updated. Here a few pictures of the boys during our house building process.

Now that Chris is the lead pastor, Easter's spent with our extended family in Oklahoma are a thing of the past. Since we can't be with them, a sweet family, the Gardeners, have graciously included us in their family get togethers!

We had a fabulous time with great food and fun people. Casen made friends with the most lovable, sweet cat I've ever been around.

He also had fun swinging on the porch swing.

Cale got a quick lesson on Easter egg hunting from Scott. He was really intrigued!

On our last quick trip to Oklahoma the Williams side of the family hit the pumpkin patch in nearby Arcadia. Casen had a great time playing with his cousins, petting animals and picking out his very own pumpkin.

Last Friday, our family joined our friends,Chandler, Jon and Ben for a fun day at the zoo.

The lions are the best part of the zoo. They paced, cuddled with each other and roared so loud you could probably hear it in Oklahoma! Casen loved them!

My good photography friends tell me that the key to taking great shots is being in the right place at the right time. Somehow I 'm not sure this is what they meant.

I was trying to take a picture of Casen giving Cale a hug. Cale "tooted" just as Casen got in position and I snapped the shot. Sutton is on alert; Casen is gagging.

Fort Worth has an amazing zoo. I took the boys and Casen loved it! The giraffes are his favorite animal right now.

While she is a bit jealous she also seems to be protective of Cale. She likes to be close to him whenever they are in the same room.

Sutton does seem to have a soft spot for Cale. He tends to receive lots of kisses on a daily basis. Both from her and Casen!

I can't believe my little guy is 2 today! Casen had a great day. We started off the morning with a birthday play date at my friend Chandler's house. Casen had a great time playing with his buddies Ben and Maddie.

It was so much fun to see how Casen responded to his new brother. When he walked into the hospital room, Casen was really excited to see a room full of his favorite people...Mommy and Daddy and both sets of grandparents.

We asked Casen where the baby was and he spotted him quickly. He touched the baby and was thankfully very gentle with him.

Cale's present for Casen was an Elmo book. Casen is currently fascinated with Elmo so the book was a big hit!

A few weeks ago we had the privilege of watching our freind's son, Max, for the afternoon. It was great practice for Casen.

Something is apparently in the water around our church. There have been lots of babies being born lately, which means lots of great baby practice for Casen.

Right now he is really into babies. He points them out everywhere we go and is very gentle with them. This is baby Elijah and Casen. Elijah was snoozing when we went to visit his parents, Aubrey and Josh, so we had to take a side by side shot.

Thankfully, lots of our friends are having their babies the same hospital where Casen's brother will be born. Now that Casen has visited the baby ward a few times hopefully he'll be more comfortable when he comes to visit his little brother! Here Casen is giving baby Calvin a kiss on the head.

The most recent addition that we visited in the hospital is Brynlee. She wasn't very happy at the moment and Casen wasn't quite sure what to think!

Last weekend Chris was in Oklahoma singing in a wedding. Thankfully, our good friends, the Dollars, invited us over for pizza so we weren't lonely without Chris around. It was a beautiful evening outside and the boys had a ton of fun playing!

The other day I thought Casen might like Jello Jigglers. So, I whipped up some jello put it in a shallow pan and then waited in anticipation to see how much he enjoyed it. Enjoy it he did! Apparently, I need to read the directions before I assume that I know how to make them. I never realized that there were some "extra" steps that need to be taken to ensure that the Jigglers don't get everywhere! As you can tell from the pictures, the mess didn't deter him from scarfing down the Jello! Lesson learned.

Since Chris cannot be gone from work on Easter Sunday and because our family lives in Oklahoma we spent our Easter afternoon with The Gardners, a family we know from Arlington that has been so gracious to include us in their gatherings. Sunday afternoon after church we headed to Al and Ozzie's for some great food, fun and fellowship.

This past weekend Chris ran his first half-marathon in downtown Ft. Worth called the Cowtown Marathon. It all started around Thanksgiving when my brother-in-law Michael mentioned that he was thinking of running in the Cowtown. Somehow, Chris thought it sounded like a good challenge and decided to go for it.

While we were in Stillwater for Christmas we had the opportunity to see some Oklahoma State Basketball at Gallagher-Iba. Casen loved the action and cheered loudly for the Cowboys.

He also found the fold down seats pretty entertaining.

Christmas

This Christmas was one we will never forget! From passing around a virus to getting snowed in for days, the craziness just never seemed to stop.

On the Sunday after Christmas, everyone was finally well enough to exchange presents. This picture sums up the chaos of opening tons of gifts with a five year old and three others under the age of 3. Paper flew and pandemonium ensued!

It's nice to have an older boy in the family who can be our toy tester. John Michael, my nephew, received a Little Tikes basketball goal a few years ago and loved it so much that Mom thought Casen needed one. Here is John Michael assisting Casen with his gift.

My nieces received some very girly ride on toys that Casen just had to test out. This is Juliet and Casen going for a spin.

After attempting to head to Stillwater a few days earlier, we finally fish tailed (literally) out of my parents driveway and made it to Chris's parent's house. The snow finally let up and we enjoyed our visit with Chris's family including his brother and sister-in- law who were in from South Carolina.

One of Casen's favorite toys was his new bench that his Grandpa made him by hand.

The cool thing is that Chris's Grandpa had made him a similar bench when he was little. Here are the boys siting on their benches together!

Even though it was a crazy trip to Oklahoma we had a great time with our families and also are so thankful for the true meaning of Christmas...Jesus Christ!

Fun Around the House

One of Casen's new favorite activities is playing with the shampoo bottles in the bathroom. He lines them up then knocks a few down, only to line them up again. I'm all for it. Whatever keeps him occupied for a few minutes is great with me!

Casen loves to play at the playground. Luckily, our neighborhood has one located at the end of our street. One great thing about Texas is the few 70 degree days in the midst of winter. On those days you can find us at the playground.

Casen also enjoys drawers. In every room he has a couple of drawers that are "his," items that are safe for him to play with. As you can tell, one of his drawers in the bedroom is the sock drawer.

Crayons!

I love the smell of crayons and can't wait any longer to Casen to start coloring. A friend told me how to make big crayons for little hands. I know you can buy them now, but I thought it would be a fun project for Casen and I.

To my surprise, Casen actually did pretty well with the plain big Crayola crayons.

Nevertheless, I forged ahead. With Sutton's supervision, we broke the crayons and placed them in a muffin tin.

After we finished, we placed them into the oven to melt together for about ten minutes.

Casen loves his new crayons! He doesn't fully grasp the concept of staying on the paper. Either that or he is truly the creative type!

Costa Rica

Since everyone has been asking, here are just a few pictures of our five year anniversary trip to Costa Rica. Below is the view of our resort from the main lobby.

We also met some interesting creatures. This little guy (a cousin to the raccoon) joined us for breakfast one morning.
One day we took a tour that involved horseback riding...
some interesting and wonderful (except for the rice) authentic Costa Rican food,
and ziplining through the rain forest.
The last night we were there we took a sunset boat tour and it was absolutely beautiful. It was probably the first time I've ever seen a complete rainbow!

Last week our Sunday School/Small Group/Flock/LifeGroup/Adult Bible Fellowship (I really don't know what to call it) had a pool party to kick off the start of Bible Study.

A few weeks ago, Chris had the opportunity to see OSU play football in Stillwater. Casen and I cheered on the Cowboys from home with the help of Maggie, a friends chocolate Lab, that we watched for the weekend.

Sutton was great with Maggie. She was a little nervous at first but they quickly became good friends!

On Sunday, this little white dog followed Chris home from his run. We had pity on the poor thing, brought it home, gave it a bath, and put up found signs. Thankfully, the dog's owners called that night. We all love dogs in our family, but it was kind of crazy having three running around!

Birthday Cupcake!

On the weekend of Casen's birthday we celebrated with both families at my parent's house in Edmond.

It took Casen a little while to catch on or even be interested in the cupcake, but eventually my father in law snuck a piece of cupcake into Casen's mouth.

Once he got a taste of chocolate he was really into it!

All in all, Casen had a fabulous birthday and I am proud to say that he is a chocolate lover!

I can't believe that my baby is one year old today! People kept telling me that kids grow up fast. I'm starting to believe them!

The Kinleys helped us celebrate Casen's birthday by having us over for pizza and birthday cookies. We had a great time. Casen always enjoys playing with Jackson and loved the cookie!

Casen's girlfriend, Maddie, is trying to buy his love. She bought him a rad bulldozer which is a good start. Power equipment and tools are the way to a man's heart.

Chris's parents were in town this weekend for a wedding so we had a fun early birthday celebration.

Chris's grandfather, Pa, sent Casen some money so he could eat some "frozen veggeies" a.k.a. ice cream for his birthday. At first, Casen was a little hesitant. Once he got a taste of the yummy ice cream he was all about it and kept asking for more!

I think Chris had more fun with the new blocks than Casen did!

Casen is very mobile these days. Because of his mobility I often find messes, such as this one, from room to room.

Casen loves to be scared - the jump out and startle you kind of scared. We can make him laugh so hard just by jumping out from behind furniture when he's not expecting it. This is one of the classic looks that brings a huge smile to my face!

Tuesday, Casen had a playdate with one of my Mom's friends granddaughter's River. Casen and River played very well together and enjoyed each other's company.

Since Chris has been in class this week, I decided to head to Oklahoma for a quick visit. Monday night my Mom made steak and my sister's family came to have dinner with us. It's always a riot when we get all of the kiddos together.

Our friends, The Bozemans, had a baby girl last week so Casen and I took them dinner. As you can tell by the pictures, Casen was more interested in their dog, Jake, than with the new baby Natalie. I'm sure he'll wisen up with time!
