First Day of School

Today was Casen's first day of "school" at our church's Early Learning Center. In keeping with both Chris and my family traditions, I had to take a picture of him standing, (actually half-way sitting), by the front door before we left. It's strange how many similar traditions that both of our family of origins had! Casen had a great day at "school" and I was able to get more errands run in just a few short hours than I've been able to in the past 8 months! I think it is going to be a fabulous thing for both of us!!!

Friends

This is Casen's new friend, Eston. Eston's mom, Carrie Hall Pinter, knew both Chris and I independently in college. She and her husband Jeff just moved to Fort Worth. Obviously, she is one step ahead of me because she was smart enough to put a bib on her kid instead of letting him drool all over himself like Casen did!

Last week, Casen and I headed to Plano to visit our good friends, Joy, Carsten, Dawn and Ethan. We tried numerous times to get the boys to sit down together for a picture. As you can tell, we were not successful. This is the best we were able to get! Oh well...I'm sure there will be many more photo ops in the future!

Go Gators!

Our Adult Bible Fellowship had a National Championship Watch Party on Thursday. Chris was boycotting the BCS this year but was a champ and went along for the fellowship. It didn't hurt that our friends Paul and Susan gave him some added incentive by making him a shirt of his second favorite team - the team playing the Sooners.

Julia Watts, of the famed couple Barry and Julia. She and her husband are mentor couples in our ABF and are like surrogate grandparents to all of the children in the class.

Beth and Keith Fletcher from the class. Though Keith and Chris are golfing buddies, Chris says this picture proves Casen is pretty intuitive already... he is trying to jump out of Keith's arms.

Outtakes

I'm realizing that with a dog and an infant as my subjects, it takes a while to get a good shot. Here are some of the shots for our Christmas picture that didn't work out so well...

You see the recurring theme here: either Sutton is licking Casen or Casen is trying to eat Sutton!

The final shot...I guess it was all worth it!

Christmas

I realize that this is way after the fact, but here are just a few highlights from Christmas.

Grandma helping me discover all of the treasures in my stocking.

Aunt Katie and Uncle Blake showing me the really cool glo-worm that they got me for Christmas!

Grandpa and I watching everyone else open their presents.

Playing with grandma's really cool cow pull toy. Occasionally it "moos" and really freaks out Sutton. It always makes everyone laugh!
