Our Trip to Plano

Last weekend we loaded the family up and made our way to Plano to spend some time with our great friends, Drew, Dawn and Ethan and Jason, Joy and Carsten.

Carsten loving on Casen.

Casen showing Ethan how to do push ups.

As you can see, we always have a really hard time posing the three boys for a picture!

Drew and Casen deep in conversation.

We brought Sutton along on the trip because she is great buddies with the Leaver's dog, Tucker. Tucker and Sutton had a great time reconnecting and playing. Casen is a dog lover already. Sutton gives Casen kisses all of the time. Her kisses are pretty tame, she basically just sniffs your mouth like this...

However, as Casen soon discovered, Tucker's kisses are more of the French variety!

Casen's Baby Dedication

This Sunday was Casen's baby dedication at church. My parents, Chris's parents and grandfather were all present to watch as we committed to raise Casen in a manner that brings glory to God. We picked out the verse 2 Timothy 3:14-15..."

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."

Chris, Casen and I on the big day.

Ken Horton, our senior pastor, with Casen during the dedication.

Chris's father, Randy, mother, Bonnie and Bonnie's dad, Pa!

My mom and dad, Joe and Susie.

Pa and mom asked for a disclaimer...they did dress up for church but were so eager to get on their comfy clothes that they disappeared before they knew I wanted pictures!

Pa and Casen. These two are absolutely adorable together. Casen just loves Pa and it is truly evident that Pa thinks Casen is pretty special. We went to Steak and Shake Sunday night and Pa was able to witness Casen's first attempt at "frozen veggies" a.k.a. ice cream.

It was such a special weekend for Casen having all of his family in town showing their support and love!

Casen's Laugh

This is becoming more and more common around our house. Chris was making faces at Casen while I was at work last week, and for some reason Casen got pretty tickled. The video is a little jumpy because the videographer was also the face-maker.

The Exersaucer

Casen is really getting in to playing with toys now. It is so much fun to watch him grab items and be so excited about what he is discovering. One of his current favorite activities is to play in the exersaucer. He absolutely loves it!

Casen mesmerized by the frog!

Vail

Last week after spending a few days in Oklahoma, Chris and I left Casen with his parents and headed off to ski in Vail, CO. We went with a group of friends from church and had a great time. We got in on the last three days of what was a week long trip for others. Even though the time was short, we enjoyed every minute of it, deepened some great friendships, and laughed a ton. I failed to get any photos of our group, action shots or wipe outs so the few shots that I did get will have to suffice.

The last night in Vail, Barry (of the famous Barry and Julia - our group's mentor couple) decided to shave his head so he could be like the rest of the boys. It made for a very entertaining evening!

Oklahoma

Forgive me for completely ignoring my blog for the past couple of weeks. It has been a crazy start to 2009!

Chris, Casen and I spent some time in Oklahoma for the funeral of Chris's grandma. It was a really sad time, but also joyous knowing that MeMaw is rejoicing in heaven with Jesus. She was such an amazing lady and showered each one of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren with so much love that you would think you were the only one she had!

MeMaw givng Casen a kiss on the forehead when he was just a couple of months old!

Even though it was a sad occasion, we enjoyed our time with the extended family. It was the first time that I had ever been around the entire group all at once. What a fun family!

Bonnie with Addyson, Casen, Lawson and Bryann. Lawson is two months younger than Casen. I'm sure they both will appreciate having a playmate so close to their own age as they grow up!

Katie, my sister in law, and Casen.
